Comments page does not match.

I’m new at WordPress. I figured I would upgrade my blog to wordpress, and I’m just having the worst luck. I finally managed to get my theme the way I want it, but I just have one problem.

When you click the link to the comments it takes you to the comment page, everything works. But the theme is a mess. On the main page the posts have a light blue background, but when you click the comments the light blue background disappears. I tried doing the same thing I did for the main page on the comments.php file and it ends up moving the sidebar to the bottom of the page and does not add the blue background. When you click on the comments you will see what I mean.
