• Hello,

I just created my first wordpress website and am using the Shopfront theme by woocommerce. I have created my first blog post but there is not comments section showing up. I also use the postgrid plugin to organize my blogposts.

I have done the following steps to ensure that the comments is enabled but it still doesnt seem to show up:

    1) Enabled comments in the discusssions sections
    2) Enabled comments in the screen options on the post edit page and also in the meta box below

Does anyone have a fix to this problem? I will be grateful!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Do comments appear if you use a different theme, like Twenty Seventeen?

    Hi James,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried to use a different theme like Twenty Seventeen and the problem still remains. Do you know which php code I can check to see where the problem resides?

    Best Regards,

Ok, then the comments are definitely not enabled properly.

Edit the post or page in question, and scroll down below the editor. There you’ll find this Discussion box: https://screenshots.firefox.com/ZhIF9hmpjvAaDRcM/delta.jhuff.me

You’ll need to check Comments there and save the post or page to enable comments.

If you do not see that Discussion box, you’ll need to hit the Screen Options tab at the top-right and check “Discussion.” This only enables the Discussion _settings_, so you’ll still need to go back to the first step and enable comments.

    Hi James,

Thanks for the help thus far but as I mentioned in my first post, I have already enabled the comments in the discussions box.

I am suspecting it is a php code that I might have touched which might have triggered the disappearance of the comments box.

    Best Regards,

Ok, try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

If that makes no difference, what PHP code did you touch?
