Comments seen by admin but not on site

  • Since changing to version 2.9.2 I am having problems with commenters leaving their comments and the site registering that they did showing their names but not the comment. I can see the comment in the admin panel but not on the site. This is happening to some but not others. I deleted these, and when I did, it happened to some of the ones it didn’t happen to before.
    I was not having any of these problems in version 2.9.1 so I figure it must be something in the version that is wrong. I belong to a blog ring and need this to be corrected ASAP.
    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Change back to the default theme (if you are not using it) and tell us if it is working then.

    It is “possible” it may be theme related so always wise to check that first.

    It was working fine until I updated to the new version.

    Okay, I find that it is theme related but I have no idea how to fix it. I just started blogging last month so I am a newbie. I am using Tres Simple theme that I changed a little to meet my needs for color content but thats about all. Also, I am hosting my own blog.
    Any help would be appreciated. I don’t want to have to start from scratch because the coding is so confusing and takes so long to figure out just to change the colors and styles.

    You would be wise to contact the author of that theme as it is possible the newer version of WordPress has changed one or two things. Chances are, the author has already updated the theme.

    It would be single.php or comment.php that would likely need to be changed but once again, contact the author and that person should be able to help you.
