• My comments.php is magic. I deleted the version in my theme’s template and also in the ‘classic’ and ‘default’ templates, yet the page still works perfectly (other than the fact that I can’t edit it).
    I finally went to another computer and tested the page and it still loads perfectly, though I simply don’t have comments.php ANYWHERE!
    Is there a remote version that loads in if it can’t find mine? I have been trying to resolve this for three days and am at a complete loss!

  • im guessing your theme isnt even calling that file. No-one here can tell since we cant see your theme source.

    Judging by what else I see though…

    Hmmm. Sorry, I am a graphic designer, not a programmer. This is my first WordPress site, so it’s a bit lacking…

    I thought comments.php built the form for submitting comments, yes?

    the theme file, comments.php is called by this:

    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    is THAT in any of your theme files, specifically your single.php?

    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    Just copied and pasted it out of my single.php.
    WO this, I loose the form obviously, but I have no clue where this php is pulling comments.php from.
