Community builder

  • Hello WP, Hello members ..

    I’m starting to love WP, it’s really more than a blog software, it’s a really powerful CMS

    SO, I’m trying everytime to see if wp can handle some requirements …

    I have a project, and was about to use Drupal (I’ll use it if WP can’t do the job)

    I’m looking forward to build a community at youtips.net
    youtips is an online article directory collecting tips and tricks in different categories ..

    The Idea is to seperate two communities , or more specifically two classes of members , Writers (or authors) and readers ..

    Writers will subscribe to a custom script (made by me) , and readers will be subscribed to a different cms ..

    So I’m trying to find out the best cms that fits my needs ..

    Can WP handle my needs ?

    Can wp layout be turned to a social network layout ?

    What I need is :
    – Community building : Forums (I think BBpress will do the job) , member groups (I don’t know how) , chat rooms (it’s not a problem if there is no plugin, I can integrate a custom one )

    – Yahoo answer like add on/Module/plugin (maybe a part of bbpress ?)

    – Feedback add on/Module – FAQ add on/Module (faq builder)

    Another question , is there a way to display some WP features in external pages ?
    Example , if I install WP in https://www.mysiteexample.com/community , can I display latest forum posts or latest groups in https://www.mysiteexample.com ???

    I found the solution but using wpMU .. itherwise, it’s not possible ?
