Community Oriented Features?

  • Currently I have the Buddyboss theme with bbpress & buddypress installed. I am running a multi-gaming/multi-guild community using wordpress.

    As a community I have the need for better tiered permissions. New members fill out applications when they register using custom Buddypress profile fields. We review them and change their role if approved.

    The problem occurs when I allow my officers permissions to promote people. They can promote themselves to administrators if I give them the promote_user capability.

    I know there are advanced permission plugins out there that you must pay for but it’s difficult to tell if they’ll do exactly what I need without wasting my money.

    Does anyone know what I should do to achieve this?
