I’m trying to build a shoppers community website, based on WooComerece. The website admin approves a community registration form, created and submitted by the community manager. The community manager has a billing and shipping addresses and payments method. Every new user/customer registration form includes a mandatory “Community” field to choose a community membership from a dropdown single choice list values of all approved communities ID. The user/customer registration is subject to the community manager, and the new user/customer profile inherits automatically the community manager billing and shipping addresses and payments method. Can your plugin help me achieve these goals by adding custom fields to the user’s database?
    Thank you very much.

  • Hi @menni50

I understand that you are looking to build a shoppers community website. Thanks for providing the details.

Based on your requirement you may want to look at the WooCommerce Memberships extension: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-memberships/ . It has great features to help set up and manage a members’ community. Feel free to check out the extension’s support documentation here: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-memberships/

For any pre-sales questions related to this plugin, please create a ticket here. You’d need to log into your WooCommerce account before you can access that page, or create an account if you do not have one. Just so you know, in the WooCommerce.com marketplace we offer a 30-day refund policy so you can test the extension and make sure it works for you.

I’ve searched around but did not find a readily available plugin that allows adding custom fields to the user’s database. However, if you’d want to add custom User Registration Fields, then this extension is a great choice: https://woocommerce.com/document/custom-user-registration-fields/

I’ll leave this open for other suggestions and also encourage you to check for more insights on the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack.

It’s likely that you may have to get a custom-coded solution for this. In such a case, I would recommend consulting with the WooCommerce Customizations Partners.

    Cheers

Hello, my questions are: 1. Can I create a shoppers/customers group with one group manager and one billing address and one shipping address based on location or belonging to a common company enterprise or institution of various type? 2. Can I add a field named “Group”, to a the user registration form, with the group’s name as the value to fill. Enabling the registering member to join a group by choosing from a list of the approved groups?

    Hello,

Thanks for writing back and clarifying your requirements.

Like Margaret mentioned earlier, this is a fairly complex development topic that might require custom coding. Customizations are outside our scope of support.

This topic will be open for a while to see if someone from the community is able to chime in with additional input, but I would suggest you check the resources shared earlier.
