    Hi Ninja Team! ??

I’m interested in NinjaScanner for its “Comparison to the original package” feature.

However, “original package” can mean 2 things:

    – SITUATION 1- the original package of the plugin we downloaded for the first time (which is when we bought it)

    – SITUATION 2- the original package of the plugin that you guys have (which means that you are supposed to have each and every paid and free plugin on your own and compare it to our own versions of the plugin).

So here is my question: in which situation are we here?

    Best,

    Lolo

It is #1: the installation ZIP file of the plugin or theme that is currently installed, if it is not available on www.ads-software.com (if it is, you have nothing to do, NinjaScanner will download it from www.ads-software.com).
E.g., if you have a premium plugin named “my-premium-plugin” v1.1, you need to upload its “my-premium-plugin.1.1.zip” file. See “Adding Premium Themes and Plugins to the File Integrity Checker

Thanks for your answer, Ninja Man! ??

So if I’ve understood well, when your security checker scans the paid plugins of a user:
1- first, you check if you already have this plugin (with the same version) in the File Integrity Checker for this particular user.
2a- if you have it, you can compare both plugins and inform the user if there is any problem.
2b. If you don’t have it, it can be either because you have an older version of the paid plugin or because you don’t have this plugin at all.
Regardless of the situation, do you ask the user to update or add his premium plugin to the File Integrity Checker? If yes, how can you be sure that the first one he sends you is clean and can be used as a reference for the future?

I hope my questions were clear enough for you to answer.

    Best,

    Lolo

    The order is:

The scanner always checks first in the /local/ folder if there is the corresponding theme or plugin. It doesn’t matter if it is free or premium.
    – If it finds it and the version matches, it uses it as a reference.
    – If it doesn’t find it or if the version doesn’t match, it checks on www.ads-software.com and downloads it.
    – If it doesn’t find it, or if the version doesn’t match, it will show a warning message in the scan report to inform you about that.

Okay, perfect logic. Thank you very much for your explanation.

    Cheers,
