Compatability of W3 Total Cache with Wordfence

I have done some Metrics on my site and there are a lot of improvements I need to make in respect of speed and various other bits for which I have been told W3 Total Cache can help me achieve this. My questions is, is it possible to run both your plugin with the free version of Wordfence, are they compatible or will it cause issues as Wordfence also has a cache area within its plugin. My website is live so I am trying to avoid any major issues or down time. Thanks.
