Looks like the plugin is not compatible with the new GA4 that’s recently been rolled out. I tried connecting a customer’s account via the plugin and it says there are no properties, even though I can see them in the Analytics dashboard.

Seems like one of the new features is the Streams screen, where I added a Web stream with the site’s URL. Maybe the plugin isn’t recognizing this new format and needs an update, especially as the last version is from 2 months ago.

Just found out the solution to this while going through another Analytics plugin’s support thread. Seems like GA4 now uses new tags which Exactmetrics don’t recognize yet (that other plugin has that same problem, BTW).

The solution is to create the property with the Universal tags enabled (looks like you cannot change that after the property is created). With this, Google Analytics will apply both the old (universal) tags and the new tags to your property, and now Exactmetrics will recognize it.

Does ExactMetrics plan to support GA4 and when?

Trying to figure out whether I should use another plugin.
