    Hello,

I’m using Pinboard with a couple minor customizations… I’ve widened the text space on the page and changed the colour of the menu bar. Unfortunately IE 8 and older are displaying these changes oddly. The widened header is getting cut off (some of the words appear but not others) and the menu bar colour is appearing as white unless you hover over it- then it’s the proper colour. This is making it difficult to read and I’m hoping someone else has encountered this issue and might have a fix?

    Thanks!

  • You’d need to post a link to your site so someone can look at what’s going on in the code.

after hundreds of attempts to make IE8 look the same, I changed my mind. I just posted a page that encourage visitors to change their browsers. Even if it is not the best solution, if you write and design the page properly(and your website is worth changing), I think people would change their browsers. Pinboard theme works fine on IE8 except header part though. IE7 and under…NOT WORKING.

Yeah I gave up on making it look the same. It is mostly IE 7 that gives me troubles… unfortunately a big audience of our site is coming from institutions that still use IE 7 and won’t let the individual users update.

I can’t post a link to the site because it is proprietary.

I settled for changing a couple things design-wise (font colour, etc) to compensate for the weird formatting in IE7, so at least it’s readable for people still stuck on that browser.

    Thanks, though! ??

I was surprised this theme didn’t work with IE, didn’t realise untill I was half way through working with it. Started over with a dirrent theme in the end ??
