    Hi

Can you confirm whether you’re compatible with Kinsta, who are Nginx & use KeyCDN?

I asked Kinsta support, this is what they said:

“You should be able to use any plugin which creates or compress the images on a 3rd party server. From what I can see the WP retina plugin regenerates the images locally which will most probably cause a timeout and how load on the server.”

Also are you planning in maintaining this plugin ongoing?

    Hi,

There is no problem with Kinsta, I am using the WP Retina 2x plugin with their services actually.

Images are generated locally anyway by WordPress (the thumbnails), depending on your Retina settings, it will double that time (if it’s all done at the same time), but basically that’s it. It’s usually not a problem.

This plugin is actively maintained. However, it is very stable, and the updates are not that much required. As the web evolves in general, I remove the part of the plugin which are not in need, so it’s getting simpler and simpler, but it works everywhere ??

    Thanks Jordy.

The image generation is executed at the point of upload, right? Maybe Kinsta support mistakenly though it was happening at the point of page load.

I also use Shortpixel for WebP serving with the <picture tag. Any compatibility issues here?

    Thanks,

    Richard

Yes, except if you disable the Auto-Generate. Otherwise you can start that process manually.

That should be no problem ??
