compatibility with pop up maker

We have been using Pop up maker to make our forms come up in a lightbox on button press. But for some reason it’s not working with the Generateblocks button. The default WordPress button works fine.
The Pop Up Controls option does appear in the block settings but it doesn’t work. It insists on going to an actual page instead of triggering the lightbox.
Is there a way to make it work? Since it works on a simple ordinary button block it seems odd that it won’t work on the Generatepress block. Granted I don’t know the code but it seems like Generatepress just adds styling on the button.

No. In the block controls there is a setting called POPUP CONTROLS. There you can select the Popup you made in the Popup Maker plugin. Both regular and the Generatepress block show this option. But it only works in the regular one. Right now for instance both of the demo button blocks have the same popup setting. But only the one works.
