    Hi there!

I’m the author of View Admin As, a plugin to switch users, roles, capabilities and more.
I recently got a support ticket that stated that my plugin wasn’t compatible with Shield Security: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/clicking-on-another-user-logs-me-out/

I tested this and I can verify that our plugins to not work together.
It seems your plugin stores/caches a user login session and automatically logs out when View Admin As switches to another user since the new session (user) isn’t matching the one your plugin has stored for comparison.

I was wondering if there are any hooks I could use to either:
    – Temporarily disable this check when a user view is active
    – OR change the comparison code to ensure it will validate the switched user.

Let me know if you could point me in a right direction.

    Thanks! Jory

    Hey Jory,

Can I ask you to give me a bit of a detailed overview how your system is working, please? The more techincal depth the better. If I have an idea how that’s working, I can probably work out where the break is happening perhaps and allow for hooks etc.

Feel free to drop me an email directly to discuss – paul{}icontrolwp.com

    Cheers,
    Paul.
