I am trying to use the MAS Companies and MAS Company Reviews plugins with the WorkScout theme. I have already added the [mas_company_dashboard] shortcode to the job dashboard page to display a list of the user’s companies above the job listings in th dashboard. The Front theme has a dedicated Company Dashboard but in WorkScout the Job Dashboard will do just fine. I created pages for the submit company form using [mas_submit_company_form] and the companies list with the shortcode [mas_companies].

Where I ran into trouble was with viewing the actual company profile pages. All I’m getting is a blank page with the job search filters in the right hand sidebar. There is a message when editing an existing company profile in the Gutenberg editor, “The content of your post doesn’t match the template assigned to your post type. [Keep it as is] [Reset Template].”

I’m not a developer and maybe I will need to hire one for this but the MAS Companies plugin does say that it should work with any theme. I created a site and activated the Front theme as a reference to see how those plugins are configured and how their associated pages work with that theme. The site template used for company profile pages in the Front theme is front/mas-wp-job-manager-company/single-company.php. I uploaded the mas-wp-job-manager-company folder into the WorkScout child theme, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I also checked to see if activating any of the seemingly relevant plugins that the Front theme comes bundled with helped, including Front Extensions, Front Gutenberg Blocks, MAS Static Content, Redux, and Safe SVG. None of them had any effect on the company profile page but I left Front Gutenberg Blocks and Safe SVG activated because they are referenced in the Gutenberg editor (fbg- and svg-type blocks).

Even though I own both themes, I prefer WorkScout over Front with the exception of the Company Profiles and Company Reviews used in Front. My plan is to work on implementing the MAS Companies and MAS Company Reviews plugins on the WorkScout theme. How can I do that? Man, that would be a great combo!!!

    Hi Ibrahim,

Yeah, I quickly hit my knowledge ceiling checking it out and put the project on hold. I still have MAS Companies and MAS Company Reviews plugins activated on my WorkScout-based site and I’ve created a test site with the Front job board theme that uses the same plugins.

I’m trying to determine if I’ll need custom development to get company pages and reviews working in WorkScout, or if it simply requires a page template that can easily be pulled from the Front theme. This functionality is a must-have in any modern job board site and they look like really good plugins, but I don’t know why it’s so hard to implement.

    Thanks,
    Brandon
