I recently had to move hosts to my blog, and i downloaded 3 xml backups, the typical wordpress exports. And I freshly installed wordpress. It uploaded the xml file and it is only half the posts I have saved, it has uploaded nothing from the last year, when I upload it, it says assign authors. admin or homelessgirl and download attachments or whatever, i try to do that, and half my blog, my most important work, comments everything is gone. So kind of a disaster, and don’t know what to do. the xml was only about 1mb the blog only had about 200 posts at most the plugins I used were disqus, akismet. I did have a problem with rss feed a few weeks ago and installed the usual plugin to fix the xml line problem, is it something to do with that?

    URL is https://www.thehomelessgirl.com

    it also shows this mess:
Failed to create new user for admin. Their posts will be attributed to the current user.
    Failed to import Media “homeless_in_paris”
    Failed to import Media “flowers”
    […]
Page “Please Don’t Sue Me” already exists.
Page “Frequently Unasked Questions” already exists.
    […]

You don’t happen to still have the old site up? It may be that the XML file is too big.

Also the failed to import media usually means it can’t find the old media.

Just like @ipstenu asked, can you log in to your old blog and the host control panel.

From my experience, WordPRess Tools > Export and Tools > Import got some bugs and don’t work. You will need to export your database through phpmyadmin. Note: When using phpmyadmin to export the database don’t export as a compressed file as phpmyadmin has a bug and will not import a compressed database.

Almost everything in your WP blog is saved in your database.
