Complete Free Business & Portfolio WordPress Theme

  • Hey I am new to wp and I have been struggling with this theme for a while and can’t get it to work properly, and I can’t get hold of the creator. I got it from https://www.wpexplorer.com/complete-wordpress-theme.html.
    Now if you go to my website https://www.ninawillebois.com you will see that there are plenty of things missing. I downloaded a data file to make the theme easier to learn how everything works. This is why it looks the same.
    Now the first thing I saw that the whole footer was missing and after tedious hours of searching I have not been able to figure out how to do this.
    Also when I place my pictures in the slide on the home page the first slide is fine featured image centers it and fits it to the size, the other two images which I don’t do anything different to zoom in onto the top left corner. All the images are the same size so I don’t understand why it would do this.

    If anybody could please help me it would help me so much!

  • not sure what the problem is as the slider looks and works good and the footer is there and looks good
    FF-latest and Chrome

    perhaps clear your browser’s cache or try another browser to see if that is the problem

    Your page looks correct, footer etc. The only thing I noticed is that when one of the images cycles through, there is an error occuring, and I guess it doesn’t load. Sorry, can’t tell you what is causing that. I can only guess check your settings.

    But, could you maybe help me…? How did you get the “Portfolio” to work correctly. When I click the links in the menu it goes to a 404 Error page. I’ve looked everywhere as to how to fix it and make it work. It’s as if the Portfolio category doesn’t exist.

    Also, when you Imported the XML file, did you get like 7 “failed” uploads notice?
    If not, did you do something special before hand to prevent that?
    Are there even any “instructions” anywhere. Like you said, there is almost know-where to contact the author.

    Do you remember what things you did during install?

    Okay… I figured out why the Portfolia links weren’t working.
    I had changed my “Permalinks” so my content would work better for SEO.
    Apparently it interferred with the Portfolia’s permalink structure.

    So, while this isn’t a huge issue, it’s certainly not preferrable for a Corporate style theme to not be able to use the permalink function.

    Of course, maybe there is a specific “way” it needs to be used, but without instructions, who know’s what that is?

    Okay after couple hours after I posted this it all came together and i figured it out. Happy that Leeuniverse got their portfolio to work.
    With the errors of the XML file I uploaded it first time all worked fine then I had messed up everything that i had to reinstall everything and start from scratch when I did that and updated my WP I got those weird fail errors, reuploaded it twice to see if that would help don’t know if it did. Activated the menu and the whole xml file was there. Hope you do know that down at the bottom under setting there is a button for complete settings in there at the bottom again is a help button their are some instructions their you can follow. Scroll through.
    Hope that helps a little bit.

    I’m working with Complete also and had a question:

    When you imported the .xml did the site look exactly like the original, images, slider images and all? Did you just use the WordPress part of the import? I don’t have the original slider images for sizing info for the images that I want to use.

    I also see the main nav. but not the footer?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I on my second re-install…grrrrr.

    Hi, I’m having issues with getting the menu colouring to work like I would like. Also seeing any “breadcrumbs” on the site, tho looking in the Style.css (to try to fix some of the menu colouring) I noticed some code/mention around breadcrumbs.

    I’ll try to explain my issues as clearly as I can, let me know if a screenshot may help.

    Assume there’s a menu as follows & the top level (About) is clicked:
    About
    – Our Photographers
    – Our Promise
    – FAQs

    ISSUES

    1. No breadcrumbs visible on pages (i.e. if user was on FAQs page, nothing showing on the page as About -> FAQs).

    2. About is not highlighted in the Orange (or any selected colour) when on the sub-menu pages (i.e. FAQs). It reverts to the Black background and White text. I want to have it keep the colour so that the user knows what section they are in, from the menu. Specially when the breadcrumbs aren’t visible.

    3. Colour for sub-menu items when on top-level page are Grey text which is hard to see with a Orange background with hovers.

    Resolved #3:
    Got into the Style.css file and after lot of searching and trying to figure out where the menu colouring was & how it worked somewhat, I got this fixed. Set the text colour to White, which is visible without an issue. Also set the active page colour to the hover colour (which was a teal-ish hue).

    Any help is much appreciated. I’m new to WordPress, just started with it a couple days ago. Have an abitious goal of getting my site accessible live in 4 days. Right now have one of the “Maintenance” plug-ins to make sure my trial and errors are not visible to anyone who may stumble upon the site.
