Complete Noob Needs Help – SOS!

  • This is what I have done so far:

    I unzipped the contents of the package.
    I saved the wp-config.php file with all pertinent information after creating a database on my godaddy.com hosting manager.
    I uploaded everything in my ftp client… was I supposed to do this? If not, how and where would I upload it.
    I typed in my website /wordpress/wp-admin/install.php and I get a page not found.

    Do I try and open it locally in my browser? Because it opens that way but I get a ton of weird symbols etc…

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    EDIT* – I think I misnamed the db in the config file… I’ll see if that changes things around.
