Complete rewrite with no documentation == stay away

  • I think this used to be a decent e-commerce plugin but not any longer. I wasted a week of my time trying to make 3.8.4 work, spent $$ on Gold Cart all to find out that there is NO documentation for the new version and what there is is completely wrong. The author chose to completely rewrite the product without telling anyone completely invalidating all of my work on the previous version with no notice.

    Don’t waste your time, money, or effort. Use something else.

    (I’ve gone to Shopp if you’re wondering)

    We rewrote a large portion of WP e-Commerce Plugin over a “two year” period and its actually quite an improvement.

    There are lots of blog posts about it, thousands of tweets about it, and there was a 6 month beta tester trial for users to test and report issues and so on. Sorry you missed all the hype.

    I don’t think you need too much documentation. Now that wp ecommerce is custom posts you can do a lot of what you need using standard wordpress development and codex.

    All you’ve got to do is find the hooks to use.
