Completed donations still show pending or abandoned in Donations list

HI there, please see our Stripe Free docs here. You’ll need to setup your webhooks in order for your donations to be updated to Complete when Stripe completes them. That is a necessary step that Stripe has mandated in their latest versions.

Hmmm. Thanks for the doc. I actually paid for the Stripe integration back in May and donations were getting marked as Completed and sending receipts out of the box, but now I have to go back and add code. That’s a disappointment.

Following up here: I definitely understand that ongoing maintenance can be a bit of a chore, but I do want to clarify that you are not adding code so much as telling the Stripe side of things where to contact your site to be able to mark donations as complete.

The reason that it used to work on our premium product (that we do not provide support for on this forum) and now requires the webhook to be entered is that Stripe has updated to a more secure and better method of connecting that requires that extra step. This applies to our free integration with Stripe as well as our premium one.

That new connection method is much better all around, but it does require the webhook to be correctly configured.

I got a donation from PayPal and it shows pending how to fix this?

Do that and all is well. We have thousands of users who have this setup and working perfectly fine. It takes one minute, and it’s something Stripe requires.

This is Stripe, What about PayPal?

Hi @sellernine. Pending donations can happen when your donors abandon their donation halfway through and don’t see the transaction through until the end.

If you’re seeing multiple pending donations in PayPal, but have actually received the funds, that is most likely an IPN issue. You’re going to need to confirm that your PayPal account has the right IPN set for your website.

It’s a similar setup and relationship as the Stripe webhook.
