    Hi,

    When a learner completes a course it shows as complete in the course itself, but on the My Courses page it stills shows the status of the course as Enrolled.

    Is this the expected behaviour?

    Thanks

    Barry

  • I am experiencing the same issue as well, in addition to the problem I mentioned in a post on lesson complete/incomplete messages not showing.

    I wonder if the two issues are related.

    Are your lessons displaying the “Congratulations! You have completed …” messages after you mark lessons as complete? What about when you mark them as incomplete?

    @wplms24

    We’re not experiencing that issue. When a learner completes a lesson or a course the congratulation messages appear ok. For us the completion status seems to be ok everywhere except on the student dashboard.

    Thanks for your reply, Barry.

    I just realized that you are still using version 3.16.11 of LifterLMS.

    I am using 3.17.5 (the most recent version at the time of this post) but despite that there still seens to be an issue of showing the course completion status on the student dashboard.

    Furthermore, I recently tried the GamiPress plugin alongside LifterLMS. The core plugin works well, but the integration they have with LifterLMS is not registering lessons, sections, or courses as “completed”. I’m not sure if this is an issue with Gamipress LifterLMS integration or if it’s related to LifterLMS’ lesson/course completion functions.

    Yes, the site was set up for someone else and unfortunately plugins only get updated every few months.

    I can’t comment on Gamipress as I’ve never used it.

    @barrysampson,

    When a learner completes a course it shows as complete in the course itself, but on the My Courses page it stills shows the status of the course as Enrolled.

    Is this the expected behaviour?

    You’re looking at the enrollment status which will be either “Enrolled” “Expired” or “Cancelled”

    You’re expecting it to say “Complete” here but it will NEVER say complete here.

    The progress bar will indicate how far through a course a student is. The progress bar appears below the courses’s image on the course tile. A student can also see their progress on a course / lesson page if you add a progress widget to the sidebar or elsewhere on the page(s) using a shortcode.

    Not a bug at all!

    To be extremely clear you’re not seeing this message because the message was removed. NOT because the lesson was not marked as complete!

    Thanks for the response. At least I know that it’s not an error on my part!

    As a general observation – I’ve been responsible for running, selecting and/or implementing LMSs for the best part of 15 years, and by convention “Completed” is treated as an enrolment status. I think that’s why I’m not the only one expecting this behaviour.

    When I worked in a corporate running an enterprise LMS, by far the greatest number of support calls came from people saying some variation on “I’ve complete his course but it isn’t showing as completed in my training record”.

    Thanks for the feedback on this… however I haven’t ever seen a complaint like this about LifterLMS before so while I understand that it’s confusing to you it’s never been something that’s appeared as confusing to me (or to any customers / users in any support requests to me) thus far. I do 90% of our support and the rest of the 10% would have funneled up to me if this was a common thing…

    ALL THAT TO SAY, perhaps the interface could use the text “Completed” when completed instead of the thin (possibly invisible if you’re not aware of it) progress bar that we have currently. I take feedback seriously but sometimes I’m slow to implement when I get only one piece of feedback about a particular thing so I will make some changes here but I can’t promise an ETA on those changes.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks for your comments. I’ll wait for the slow changes ??
