I tried to use Sharethis on my WordPress website but it wasn’t really working, so I removed the plugin and deleted the folder contents. I am STILL getting warnings on GTMetrix’s YSlow page regarding Sharethis includes.

How do I completely remove all references to Sharethis from my website?

    There are 2 redirects:

    https://l.sharethis.com/pview?… redirects to /sc?cm=CvQBCFn3JEIAAAARU1eMAw%3D%3D&uid=true&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.newstaticsforsale.co.uk%2Fproduct%2Fthe-blenheim%2F

  • Hi @antforshaw,

Thanks for reaching out and apologies if you weren’t able to get our plugin working. I’d be more than happy to help you get it setup if you’re still interested.

In regards to the warnings you’re seeing within GTMetrix report, you shouldn’t see them once you’ve removed our plugin. I recommend clearing your cache and then checking back again. It also may be worth mentioning if the report you’re receiving from GTMetrix are up to date or reflective of the last search requested.

If you’re still seeing this problem please let us know and provide us a link to your website. Thanks!

Thank you for your replies. If I use the Google Analytics plugin from Sharethis, is it possible that the includes I mentioned are part of that functionality, and not the actual social-sharing mechanism from Sharethis?

    Hi @antforshaw,

Thanks for getting back to us. You are correct, Google Analytics plugin is also owned by ShareThis and the parts mentioned ARE part of its functionality. Unfortunately you’re unable to remove them as it would disable the plugin completely from working the way it’s supposed to.

If you have any other questions please let us know Ant.

    Hi @brandonsharethis

Great – thanks for the info. It looks like I mistakenly thought the includes were remnants of the old plugin so this one can be closed.

    Many thanks.
