Dear Support Team, I am currently using Hummingbird on 2 websites. I would now like to use another caching plugin permanently on one of them. So that this can be done without any problems, I would like to ask you to provide me with instructions on how to completely uninstall Hummingbird so that no problems or conflicts with the other caching plugin can arise. I am addressing my request to you as experts because I have come across the problem of incomplete uninstallation of the plugin on various sites on the Internet. I am therefore grateful for your expert support. Oh, I think Object Cache and Opcode Cache are available on the server side. Kind regards, Klaus

    Hi @wordupall,

I hope you are doing well today!

Hummingbird does include an inbuilt feature to remove all its data upon uninstallation. Here’s the process:

    1. Login to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Go to ‘Hummingbird’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Data & Settings’.
    3. Scroll down to find the Uninstallation->Data->Remove option and enable it. Uninstallation->Settings->Reset will also help to remove the plugin settings.
    4. Lastly, go to your plugins list, deactivate Hummingbird, and select ‘Delete’ to remove it.

    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/#data-settings

By toggling those options, you ensure that all the Hummingbird settings and data are completely removed when the plugin is deleted from your WordPress dashboard. This will leave no trace of it to conflict with your new caching plugin that you intend to install.

Please make sure to backup any necessary data before removing the plugin as the operation is not reversible.

After this, you can install your new caching plugin as desired, remembering to correctly configure the settings for Object Cache and Opcode Cache to utilize your server-side caches.

Please let us know if you need further help or clarification.

    Kind regards,
    Zafer

Hello Zafer, thank you very much for your answer/instructions. I have now come across the following page, which also offers a description for uninstalling Hummingbird: https://tipsnfreeware-com.translate.goog/safely-uninstall-hummingbird-plugin-from-your-site/?_x_tr_sl=en&_x_tr_tl=de&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=sc#google_vignette

Would you agree with this extended description, because it now makes me a little unsettled? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
    Kind regards,
    Klaus

    Hi @wordupall,

In general, the steps mentioned in our initial reply should be enough. Once you enable the mentioned setting, then deactivating & deleting the Hummingbird plugin should be enough. This action will effectively remove all data from the database and files such as those in the .htaccess or wp-config.php file, among others.

What’s mentioned in the given article should also get removed out of the box, unless there are any restrictions or permissions that may be hindering the plugin from implementing these changes

    Best Regards,

    Nithin
