Completing lessons In Total is for all lessons combined?

    Hi! Last time I asked this question:

    If you want a student to earn points only once for completing a course or lesson, do you choose In Total and put in 1 for the number of times? Or is this “In Total” for all users ever? So, like, whoever completes the course first gets the Points and no one else gets any?

    Should I assume settings for Hooks are always per student?

    And you said that the In Total is for each lesson but I just tested this by setting the quantity to 1 and it’s for one lesson, period. I completed several lessons in different courses and it only added points once on the first lesson completion.

    Does this mean that completing courses would work the same way with In Total?

    It would make way more sense for it to be for each lesson and each course.

    Also, when you Enable Specific, does that mean that it’ll apply General points to any lesson or course that isn’t listed under Specific? Or does it mean that only the courses listed under Specific will give points when completed?

    There can be multiple scenarios.

    Specific Checkbox Scenario #1:
    When you enable specific checkbox in the hook settings only the specific course, quiz and lessons work. In this scenario the user does not get points for general.

    Specific Checkbox Scenario #2:
    When specific checkbox is enabled and user is attempting a different course which has been selected in specific dropdown course then the user gets points for general hook settings.

    In Total:
    If you have set value as 5 in total limit then the user will get points 5 times. These 5 times can occur in a single day or multiple days depending on the users activity.

    Sorry for the slow response. I had to take care of some things before I could come back to this.

    Thanks for the detailed reply! This would be really useful to have in the documentation.

    It would be nice if there was another checkbox to allow any lessons not listed under Specific to be given the General point amounts. I could see it getting really tedious if you have lots of courses and lots of lessons.

    I’ll keep it unchecked for now.

    Thank you for your suggestion. We have forwarded it to our development and research team. If we get approval from them we will add another checkbox. We are working on optimizing our code so that it could facilitate the end user if there are too many courses added in one hook.
