Hi guys, I have installed complianz on a site that I am customizing. Suddenly google analytics does not activate in any way. The google script is inserted in the header.php file of the child theme and from the first configuration it always worked with complianz. Now after the automatic scan I realized that with or without consent I do not detect the google analytics cookie. I double-checked the configuration and everything is set as before, the cookies are detected and inserted in the policy but even if the cookie is allowed before consent is never activated. The site is still coming soon for visitors and therefore I will not report the link, I also tried the settings shown at the following link but without resolving: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/complianz-issue-with-google-analytics/.

    Thank You
    Andrea

Hi, this is the bypass link of the website:

    https://www.robertamuzzatipodologo.com/?cmp_bypass=studio4mani

so you can see how although the google analytics snippet is present on the page it is not active neither before nor after the consent.

    Thank You

    Hi @techfive2012,

I see that a Google Analytics pageview is fired (and the _ga cookie(s) are created) as soon as the Cookie Banner is loaded. Please find a screenshot attached here: https://i.snipboard.io/WmNKqo.jpg

Your Complianz settings indicate that the implementation of Statistics is anonymous, so the Statistics category is ‘pre-checked’ and Analytics is fired when the banner loads.

Are you still experiencing any issues?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi Jarno,
I am very sorry. Last night I tried them all but the analytics cookie was not created. Now I read your answer, I log in from another computer and everything works as before! I can’t explain why but I’m happy that everything is back to normal.

One last thing, as you have seen:
I use GA4 (which is anonymized by default) and deactivated any type of data sharing, is it correct in your opinion to activate the analytics as soon as the banner is loaded? (from the information in my possession I read that consent is not required).

    Many many thanks again

    Hi @techfive2012,

The answer would vary depending on the targeting region(s) of your website, as some countries require explicit consent for Statistics, even when anonymized.

If you answered the question “Do you target visitors from Germany, Austria, Belgium and/or Spain?” with No, configured Analytics for GDPR as per the steps in this article, and ticked the three checkboxes concerning Analytics under Wizard > Consent > Statistics to mark your implementation as anonymous, it is indeed correct that Analytics is loaded prior to consent.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
