Complicated setup – advice needed

  • Hi all,
    I’ve designed and built a few WordPress sites before but would appreciate some advice for my latest project.

    I have to build a new version of an existing site and leave the current site running until the new site is ready for launch. The present site https://www.example.co.uk is hosted on a different server to the new site.

    The new site will be a multisite using sub domains (www.jobs.example.co.uk and https://www.business.example.co.uk) on a VPS.

    In the past I’ve used a temp URL to build new versions of existing sites or made the new site in a sub folder. Because the multisite needs the root directory I don’t think its the way to go this time, plus I can’t use a localhost workaround on my PC as I need access to both old and new sites from the same machine.
