    Hi all!

WP only compresses uploaded images larger than 1 megabyte.
How do I tell it to compress every image on upload?

All content is user generated. They upload photos that are 2 – 4 Mb to posts and comments.
All of this gets compressed by LiteSpeed.

But, a lot of the images are screenshots, which can be hundreds of Kbs and pass uncompressed.
    How do I change this?

You mean how to make WordPress to compress image smaller than 1MB ?

    qtwrk thank you for answering.

    No.
WP compresses images larger than 1MB to around 100 KB.
But, if the image is smaller than 1MB, it doesn’t compress it.
So, if a 900 KB image is uploaded, it will add the image to the database untouched.

At least, that’s how it’s working currently on my website.

    okay….?

but shouldn’t that to be a WordPress core feature issue, instead of LiteSpeed Cache plugin-related issue…?

    You’re right. My mistake.

Since I was using LiteSpeed Cache to set up the compression, I assumed that this was also a function of that plugin.
But, when I installed a different image compression plugin, the issue was still there.

Thank you for your help. Sorry for the confusion.
