    Hey guys,

    Let me just start saying how much I love TinyPNG service, a long time favourite of mine, happy to have it now integrated with my WordPress sites, which lead me to finally have a paid account with your service. Thank you!

    Im noticing a few problems with the WP plugin though.
    I’ve noticed that the compressed images on the site aren’t as compressed as they would be when compressed via your website.

    I’ve made a quick test by downloading an already compressed image (via plugin) to my desktop and then compress it again with your online tool. It shaved another 100k + Kb from a couple of images, as you can see in this screenshot:

    I was wondering if there’s anything that can be done about this.

    Thanks for contacting us, and good to hear that you love our service!

    The WordPress plugin and the website use the exact same compression method (the plugin actually sends the images to the webserver for compression). This means that if you upload an image to the website once or compress it in the plugin, it should yield very similar results.

    We’ve tried to optimise all compression parameters in such a way that most images will have the best size / quality ratio possible, but some cases a second compression will make an image smaller and not noticeably less in quality. In the end, when you keep on re-compressing the same image it will degrade in quality and you will see more and more artefacts.

    Of course, we would like to improve our compression algorithm at any time. So if you could be so kind as to send us the image in question, we might tweak a parameter here and there to better handle cases similar to your provided image.
