I am using conditional menus for members who are or are not logged in. If I log out, I see the proper logged out choices. If I log In I see the proper logged in choices. However, if I then go to My Home Page, the menu improperly switches back to the logged-out choices until I reload the page.

I have figured out a partial solution. First look here

Then follow the instructions to configure a redirect on log in based on user role or form etc.

That fixes the problem with the menu. However I have conditional content (only shows when user is logged in) and it still doesn’t show until I refresh the page.

Say I’m looking at a post that tells me “Not Logged In”. So I Log In. I have UM set to redirect me to the home page after login. Then if I go back to the original page, it still says “Not Logged In” until I refresh.

If I instruct the Login form to “Refresh active page” it refreshes the login form. So now I’ll try to bring up the login form in a modal, then see if when it refreshes the active page, it is the one I really want.

    Hi @richardu,

Thanks for letting us know. Have you tried disabling any cache installed on your site and server and see if this resolves the issue?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the response UMS. I should have said, I already have the server cache off. I imagine this occurs due to browser cache.

I’m using the AVADA theme, and I was able to successfully pull up the login form in an AVADA modal, (A bit tricky but I’ll happily share the technique with anyone who needs to know). As a result, when the login form “Refreshes active page” it actually refreshes the underlying page which solves the problem, and also makes for a better UI.

Now I need to figure if, when the user needs to go from the login page to the registration page, I can do THAT in a modal.

The easiest thing to do was have separate menu items for Registration and Log In and remove the second button from both forms. Seems to work. I’m planning to add Social Login addon. Not sure how that would work.
