    Hi.

Thanks for all of the great updates and for open sourcing this project.

I have a question / idea which could lead to a possible new feature.

My client has a contact form with a select input titled “Your top challenge today?” with some values….

    Sales
    Positioning
    Competition
    Marketing ROI

They would like the selected value from the select input to result a tag. So if the user select Sales and sends the form, in InfusionSoft the new item would be tagged with Sales. These tags would be setup in advance in InfusionSoft.

What do you think about adding this functionality in to the plugin? Would it be relatively straightforward to add a new parameter when creating the select input like “UseValueAsTag” and then when the processing is happening if the value is a valid tag then it gets added?

I also deal with a lot of multilingual websites, and in this scenario the select text values may not have a direct corresponding value == tag. For example the tag in InfusionSoft would be Sales, but in the select value on the french version of the website would be Ventes. A way to specify the tag to be used against the value would be ideal.

The goal with this is to place the new lead in to the correct tagged group, so all of the new leads are not in one bucket.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Adding a new parameter/attribute to the shortcode is definitely an interesting idea. I have done something similar in the past (passing checkbox values to InfusionSoft as tags). In this case, however, I modified the name of the input item, rather than adding an additional parameter.

I’ll have to look into doing this. The only real tricky thing I can think of is making it user friendly enough to the average user. For some, simply adding a single tag in the “tags” section of the Contact Form has been difficult enough. I’m not sure how I’d make adding multiple tags as select options user friendly.

I’ll definitely think of it. Any ideas are definitely welcome.

    Thanks for the suggestion!
