Config Press and SuperAdmin
-
I want to give other users the ability to use this plugin, but so far that seems to be impossible.
I followed this tutorial, and it doesn’t work.
https://wpaam.com/tutorials/aam-super-admin/
I’ve created a manager role and given them level 9 in system permissions.
These are my config press settings
[aam] super_admin = "1" page.access_control.capability = "level_9" page.configpress.capability = "level_9" page.extensions.capability = "level_9" feature.post_access.capability = "level_9" feature.admin_menu.capability = "level_9 feature.capability.capability = "level_9"
Logging in as that user doesn’t allow them to access the AAM plugin.
I even changed the config press settings to set the super admin to their user ID instead of mine, then logged into their profile, and they still couldn’t access AAM, but I still could. (And then I changed it back, as you can see from my config press settings.)
What’s going on?
As an addendum, about a week ago, we tried buying the plus package, but no email showed up. My boss wanted to switch plugins immediately, but I stuck my neck out for you, and put up 30 dollars of my own money to try again, despite the fact that you hadn’t responded to either the email I sent via your contact form, or the post I made on these forums. Luckily, your system deigned to show mercy and actually provide the content I paid for that time. Now it probably won’t even matter, and I’ll have to switch plugins anyway, because I can’t give the person who commissioned the site the ability to actually restrict content the way your plugin advertises.
Honestly, I don’t even know why I’m writing this because if your previous example of absolutely abysmal customer service is anything to go by, this post will be summarily ignored. It’s really a shame, I was excited to use this plugin on a few future sites we’ve been asked to create, and now I have to go back to my boss with my tail between my legs telling him that he was right and we should’ve used a different plugin for this site, and definitely should use a different plugin in the future.
