Product-configured Shipping?

  • I’ve worked with (purchased) a similar product configurator before (aka Extra Product Options) but unfortunately had to start from scratch later on, because I became aware too late that one can’t translate a given configuration to a specific shipping option, so can’t really calculate accurate shipping costs during checkout for a configured product that may vary wildly in substance/weight (e.g. a printed image on thin paper, or on a heavy wooden base instead). Is such use case sensibly addressed with this plugin? Thanks.

    Hi there,

    This isn’t possible out of the box.
    It can be done, but requires either an add-on to add linked product to the cart (which can then have their own weight and shipping class), or a bit of custom work to add weight to choices.
