Configuration and common pitfalls
-
After installing the plugin it is advisable to configure it (although it MAY work out of the box).
This antispam plugin take his advantage from an intelligent algorithm that can distinguishes between spam and ham. It is one of the most precise antispam methods and it will be created and shaped for your website. But the plugin needs to learn in your language and in your case detect spam mail and it may need your help the first days.
There are few important things to know in order to get this plugin to work as desired:
– the Flamingo installation isn’t mandatory but recommended
– After you install this plugin, in the first 2 or 3 days, I recommend you to check the received emails. You may need to adjust advanced parameters if the jails are too aggressive or too flacky (towards the end of the plugin configuration page, advanced settings section). If you have any problems or doubts, ask here on the forum.
– With some caching plugins like wp rocket or w3 total cache you need to flush cache after updating this or the contact form 7 plugin.
– Don’t delete a ham mail in the spam mail folder (or viceversa). Before delete a mail, please, be sure to move that mail in the correct folder, otherwise the algorithm will be confused. This because b8 need to learn in order to distinguish between spam and ham, and you need to teach it correctly.
