The plugin has been working OK on my site for years…..

Suddenly, this plugin is giving me this error message that my email configuration is not correct? AFTER I update the plugin?

And then when I update my email (it reset my destination email) in the form settings, the page turns into a loop and my WordPress keeps re-loading the page in the background!

All this only happened AFTER the last “update”

I don’t know what caused this frickin problem. Is it the webhost, or is it a NEW BUG to hit Contact Form 7 after the update? We all know updates can screw up a plugin or app, and make things worse, or introduce even MORE bugs….

    Why so weird?

Edit: Resolved, after I made a copy of the email form settings/template and deleted the old one. I have a strong suspicion that is is web-host related. Geez.

I do not know what causes the problem.

But I resolved it by copying the Shortcode and then update my contact page with that shortcode copy. Now it no longer tells me that I have a configuration error…..

    Just a WEIRD problem.

At least, now I see that I am not the only one having this problem.

I was thinking maybe this was a web-hosting issue.

    ARGHH………..Bugs, bugs, and more bugs.

Hopefully, someone benefited from my thread. COPY your shortcode after making sure your settings are correct and re-update your page. This should solve the issue for many……….

To the plugin developer – Please take note.

I tried your solution and it didn’t change anything on my site. Still get the same message. Also still get the configuration error message on the contact form

    @ Rejean Pion

You have to make sure your configuration settings are ok in the first place. Have you formatted them right? On some servers or sites, something could RESET them….this is the weird part.

The contact form works for me now, I just tested it.

@rejeanpion – the plugin author has given you the advice you need to follow in your own post.

Now, I had to create a new contact form and paste the new shortcode into my page. Now it works. Bad update, lease Contact Form, do you test before giving problems like that to all of your customers.
