I’ve tried several searches on google and here in the forum already, but I found nothing that would help me.

I’ve registered my domain in Germany (with a german nameserver) and rented some webspace in the US.
What I had to do is redirecting the Domain to the subfolder on my server.

    Let’s say my domain is:
myname.de and is redirected “hiddden” to my webspace:
    https://XXX.XXX.XX.XX/~username/public_html/
I installed WP in this “root” folder.

My question is: How can I get WP to display internal Links e.g. to a post to the following address: myname.de/archive/postnumber/xx/ instead of to: XXX.XXX.XX.XX/~username/public_html/archive/postnumber/xx/

I would really appreciate any links or hints from you.
Thank you very much in advance.

Why do you have to do that? Normally, you should just change the name server (DNS) at the registrar to reflect where it is hosted (what you call webspace). That’s it. No redirects, no stinky half-solutions.

And WP will work. With your redirects… most likely it will never work.

thank you very much for your reply.
I already tried to do that but there seems to be a problem with the redirection since the german registrar does not really support foreign nameservers. *sighs* so the only solution seems to be so far to directly point to my hoster.

well, think I’ll give them a call and ask.
    maybe that helps.

Just for everyone who might have the same problem:
I was able to resolve this with new nameserver settings. It worked out very fine.
