Here’s what I am trying to do –
    1. I have 4 categories of fine art prints (I will gladly buy the premium version if I can see this works), they are, from least expensive to most – Graphite, Onyx, Obsidian, Black Opal.
    2. I want each product – each fine art print – to be available in all 4 categories. So, on the link above, I want that photo to be available in each category and optionally, in each paper within that category. Graphite, for example, has 3 paper types – gloss, semi-gloss, and matte.
    3. I have built a composite product for a photo called The Wrecked and the Dead, however, when I select one of the print types, it brings up another – different – print.
The documentation isn’t very detailed and there are lots of typographical errors, so I am not sure if I am missing something. Please help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @nyghtfalcon ,
Thank you for contacting us. Sorry for the late reply. We’re rolling out some important updates of the support system so the support might be a bit slow these days. I checked your site for a while, I wasn’t able to choose any components from the composite you created as a visitor.

From your description, I think there are two ways for you to try: create a composite of 4 components (Source: Products) or just one component (Source: Categories).

Method 1: you can try creating a composite with only one component whose source is the Categories type. First, kindly create 4 variable products (also names of 4 categories): Graphite, Onyx, Obsidian, Black Opal respectively. Each of them will be a variable with 3 variations of paper types. Then, create a new unique product category and put all these 4 under that new category. Now, when you create the component, choose Categories for the Source before adding this new category to the components. In the front-end, in each component, there will be a drop-down list of ALL variations appearing for 4 categories altogether. There are not just 4 products, but all types of paper for 4 prints will be displayed accordingly. And customers can only buy one print with one paper type only when you set up composite like this.

Method 2: Create 4 variable products then add each of them to one component. Choose the Source as Products, then add each of the print types to the offer. Then in the front-end, there will be 4 components, each will display a drop-down of 3 paper types. If you want your customers to choose freely whatever they like to buy, mark all 4 components as Optional (choose “No” in Required). For this method, customers can add more than one print to the cart as all components are optional.

You might need to write a short instruction for your customers to know if they can buy one or more prints per deal.
In case you might want your customers to first choose a category then display all types of prints or paper types in one screen (as Radio button type for variations), this isn’t supported by our plugin at this time. WPC Composite Products only allows the drop-down interface.

I hope my explanation is clear enough. If you have any further questions concerning the technical setups of composites, kindly contact our developer directly via this page and give them a description of your request so that our staff can give you more instructions. Please be as specific as possible.
Thank you for your support of our plugin.
    Best regards.
