    Dear Sirs,
I’ve just installed version 5.6.1 of Yoast SEO plugin.
I’m very new to this plugin, so I tried the configuration wizard. But what I get is only a blank page with a button on top to close the wizard and get back.
I’ve tried on different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
I tried with all plugins on and my custom theme.
I tried with all plugins off and default Twenty Seventeen theme.
The issue is always the same.

I checked the Console and found this error:
Uncaught Error: No locale meta information provided.
    at dcnpgettext (configuration-wizard-561.min.js?ver=5.6.1:50)
    at d.gettext (configuration-wizard-561.min.js?ver=5.6.1:50)

    at f.performInitialMount (configuration-wizard-561.min.js?ver=5.6.1:25)

Please provide me a solution. ??
    Best regards.

  • Hi @raffaellogatto,

Can you please try the steps below while all the non-Yoast plugins are deactivated and your theme is on Twenty Seventeen?

    • Disable all browser’s extensions and clear your browser’s cache
    • Clear all caches on your website (if any)
    • Re-install Yoast SEO manually via FTP as this KB article describes

    Let us know the results.

    Dear @monbauza
Thanks for your answer, but nothing changed.
I strictly followed your steps but I still get the same error.

Maybe cause I’m using the Italian version of WP (I was warned by the plugin that it’s only 98% guaranteed)? Maybe it’s due to PHP 7?
This is a more extended info about the configuration of my environment:
    Versione WP: : 4.8.2
    WPMU: No
    MySQL Versione : 5.1.73
    PHP Versione : 7.0.23
    Salva Sessione Percorso : /var/lib/php/mod_php/session
    CURL Libreria Presente : Yes
Debug File Permessi di scrittura : Not Writable
    Yoast SEO: 5.6.1

I also turned the wordpress-seo folder of the plugin to 777 permissions, just in case… and nothing.

This is the complete verbose message in Console:
Uncaught Error: No locale meta information provided.
    at dcnpgettext (configuration-wizard-561.min.js?ver=5.6.1:50)
    at d.gettext (configuration-wizard-561.min.js?ver=5.6.1:50)

    Hi,

We do no think it is related to Italian being incomplete or the PHP. While we are not sure why that is happening, we do know that if it happens when Yoast is the only plugin active AND your theme is a default one like 2016 it may be a bug.

However, we released a new version of Yoast v5.7. We suggest updating to it and see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue still happens, we’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.

Don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in your bug report.

In the meantime you can fill out the configuration wizard manually here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-seo-installation-wizard/
