Configure subscription mail subject to show blog name before [New Post]

    That’s an idea, we could indeed change that subject to something like [New Post on blog name] Post title. That would have a few inconvenients, though:

    • That would push the post title a bit more to the right. With long blog titles, the post title would end up not being displayed at all.
    • You would be repeating yourself, as your blog name is already used as the Sender name. Take this example (my blog name is my own name, Jeremy Herve):

      Adding my blog name to the subject line as well seems unnecessary in this case.
    • Adding your blog name to the subject line can also quickly become boring for your subscribers, and having multiple emails with similar subject lines can hurt the email opening rates for your subscriptions. Email marketing professionals often say, “Brand yourself in the from line and save the subject line for your persuasive pitch.” (reference)

    I’m consequently not sure that’s a good idea. But if you think we should change that, how would you build that subject line?
