• I have a client whose main site is mylongdomainname.com but they have a separate domain for their email, mldname.com, which I have configured through the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin. And this is working fine, WooCommerce and other automated WP emails send with no issues from this other domain’s email address that is configured through the plugin.

However, I can’t figure out (and am not sure if it is possible) to get Contact Form 7 to send from this email address on a different domain. If I try using that email, CF7 complains that the email is not the same domain as the website. And when trying to submit the form on the front end it shows an error.

Thanks in advance for any help! Let me know if you need more info, thanks again

Contact Form 7 has nothing to do with actual mail delivery.

If I try using that email, CF7 complains that the email is not the same domain as the website.

Just ignore the message if you are sure about your configuration.

    See FAQ about Configuration Validator

And when trying to submit the form on the front end it shows an error.

Check FAQ > After submitting the form, I get an error message stating “Failed to send your message”. What is wrong?

    Hello,

I also have the same issue.

I am also trying to send a email from a domain that is different from the website domain.

When I run a test on the contact form and try sending a email I get this message “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”.

However, the email is never receive the email at the recipient side.

I do understand the concerns about spoof email. Can I use a different email domain, or not. And if I can, how can I configure it to work properly?

Thank you in advance for your support with this.
