    Hello,

I am new to sportspress and I am trying to develop a website for eSports (Call of Duty). I want to upgrade to pro within a few weeks here however, I can barely get a grasp on the free version let alone free.

My biggest issue is the configuring, I do not understanding what its about and how it works and there hasn’t really been any tutorial videos on it in general..Maybe for outcomes, however that’s it. So can someone explain to me the configuring?

The other thing I would like to know out of genuine curiosity would be how someone created a website like this by themeboy – https://gamers.teambruno.org/account/ , there has to be a third party plugin being used for profiles to be created but there’s no way it can be buddypress because there is so much customization in a way buddypress doesn’t fucntion. Any idea?

    Thank you!

    Hi!

Actually we have a lot of docs and videos about the basic setup. Please check this link:
    https://support.themeboy.com/

    And our youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/themeboyteam

It’s hard for us to help you with the very basics (as the docs & demo content are much better on that) but if you have any questions about the setup of a specific page or standings let us know and we’d be glad to help.

As for that site, it may be using buddypress as we do have a plugin to integrate SportsPress and buddypress

    Kind Regards,

    Hello Roch,

That’s the buddypress plugin (I forgot who designed it) for $49 1 site license correct?

Anyhow, I have watched about 10-12 videos on Youtube and although there was about 2-3 that I remember showing a few things in “configure” but didn’t necessarily elaborate on that settings page itself any further.

    For example,

I would like to have WINS/LOSSES (easy enough to add) for teams

    For players, I would like wins/losses with a win/loss ratio. Kills/deaths with a kill/death ratio. Map wins/losses with a map win/loss ratio.

I have been able to add a few in but it all doesn’t make sense to me and when I tried calculating one of the ratio’s it didn’t change on the player.

I used the counter strike setting to start just to help out and build from there,

    Configure 1

    Configure 2

I have attached two images of my current settings if that helps at all?

    Thank you!

    Hi!

    Thanks for the screenshots!

As for the buddypress plugin, you can check more details about it here: https://www.themeboy.com/sportspress-extensions/buddypress-for-sportspress/

Regarding your setup would you mind explaining how the game works in general? For example how many players there are in a match, what are the relevant stats (kills is the way to define a win? what else would you like to track?)

I like to use as an example of soccer (so you know what kind of data we need to help you with the setup). If I were to explain to you I’d say that the main objective is scoring more goals than the opposite team. There are 2 teams of 11 players each in a match, but some matches may have less (depending on the age group). We need to keep track of shots, yellow cards, red cards, goals and defenses (for goalies).

    Kind Regards,
    -Roch

    Hello,

Once I get things figured out with formulas and such I’ll be purchasing that plugin too.

Absolutely, there is multiple game modes that can be played dependent on the game title, generally 2-4 different game modes however, I will not be calculating all game modes as it’s too many statistics for a new website. There is ALWAYS 4 players in the match, never less never more but there may be 1 substitute. Matches are played in best of 3’s generally, sometimes best of 5’s and 7’s and goes by MAP wins. Each series there is a different map (best of 3, 3 different maps and the first 2 won, win the entire match). The relevant stats will be match wins/losses, win/loss ratio, MAP wins/losses, map W/L ratio, kills, deaths, kill death ratio (for now).

So ALWAYS 2 teams and ALWAYS 4 players, those are the statistics I’ll be tracking for the first couple seasons.

Let me know if there is anything more I can provide and I would be more than happy to, thank you very much!

    Sincerely,
    Adam
