Configuring WordPress site to coexist with other non WordPress somain sites
-
Hi
I am a nebei to Linux and WordPress.
I have configured three secure virtual domains plus two sub-domains on my Ubuntu 16.04 servers. All the sites and everything seems to be working fine. But the moment I configure WordPress to start on one of the domain, the wordpress sites becomes functional without any issue but if a user tries to access anyother site, the user is prompted for a username/password dialog ….
I thought that I might have misconfigured something due to which those sites are also somehow trying to access some wordpress resource (which does has a different document root folder) or maybe the MySQL Database so I tried with MySQL and other credentials to try and get past that authentication dialog (just to see where it leads) but then it just goes around in circles prompting me again and again for authentication.
I even created a fresh server with fresh Ubuntu install and everything starting from scratch but perhaps I am doing some basic mistake and am not able to figure it out myself. Can any of you gurus please help me with some help or clue. I would be always grateful for any help.
NB: I had also posted this issue in WordPress Install forum but as I am no longer sure if this is initial wordpress install issue of it is some Fixing/configuration issue so am posting it here also … please forgive my lack of full understanding.
Regards
