Hi – I am unable to add a URL for confirm and unsubscribe pages? There is no input fields like the other options, it just asks you what you want them to be without the ability to input your URL! Can you offer any assistance? When I test subscribe, I do see the confirm link adds the parameters and successfully confirms in the backend – but it only takes the user to the homepage of the blog.

    Let me know!

hobbiehobsons, I’m sorry that you are having an issue with OSD Subscribe. The general intent behind the unsubscription page option was to have the user create a page in WordPress, then select that page to show as the unsubscribe page. Sending subscribers to an external URL for subscription/unsubscription pages is currently not supported and can be disorienting for users. However, as mentioned before, you should be able to create a new WordPress page, style it and add whatever message you would like, and then select that page as the subscribe or unsubscribe page in the options menu. I hope this information helps you.

Hi – this makes sense. I setup the pages and it works fine. Thanks for your help on this! Also, are the only people that can see this plugin once it’s setup administrators? Any way to activate it for non-admin roles?

I’m glad that worked. I’m not sure exactly what you mean by “are the only that can see this plugin.” If you are asking if non-admins can see the subscription form, yes they can. As long as viewers have permissions to view a page, they can see the subscription form.

If you are asking whether or not non-admins can set up the options for OSD Subscribe, then that depends on your setup. Anyone with a login and plugins access should be able to edit the options for OSD Subscribe.

My issue is that as the admin, I have setup OSD subscribe in my wordpress site without a problem – subscribe field/emails/etc. But my ‘editor’ role users can not see the OSD subscribe navigation item when the login – so they can’t monitor subscribers/etc. You mentioned it depends on my setup, what do you mean?

I was incorrect with my initial statement. What all would you like your editors to be able to do? I can easily change that in the plugin and release an update today.

Ideally they would be able to see the subscribers navigation item, and maybe (if possible) – the ability to customize the ‘General Settings’ and ‘Front-end Javascript Messages’ from the settings page. But that is just a bonus request if it is simple enough to do ??

    Thanks for the speedy responses!

I have released an update to OSD Subscribe. Now editors can view/modify the subscribers settings page. Unfortunately, it would take more work to split up the main settings page, so I have added that into a list of potential updates for the future. Enjoy!

AWESOME! Thanks so much for that. One last question, may just be my lack of knowledge… but why does OSD show up at the bottom of the navigation list rather than at the top by the ‘Dashboard’ link where Jetpack also shows up that I have installed?

Plugin developers can choose where in the dashboard list their plugins are located. My personal opinion is that all 3rd party plugins should be in alphabetical order underneath the WordPress default settings sections. This way, anyone who is editing a site knows exactly where to look for 3rd party plugins. Again, just a matter of opinion, so our team tends to let WordPress handle our plugins position in a default manner.

    Understood. Thanks again!

why no message apears after subscribing???

    delano06,

You may want to start a new thread for this question. I will try to provide some general advice. Make sure that you save correct settings in the OSD Subscribe settings page. Also, make sure you set the confirmation page to an existing page. Other than that, I will need more details explaining what the problem is.
