I have a woocommerce shop where some of the items I sell are potentilly dangerous chemicals.

For these items (and these items only) I wish to have a checkbox at the checkout that asks “I have read the manufacturers safety data sheet” Only if this is clicked do I want the customer to be able to proceed to payment.

How is the best way of doing this? (there are some plugins that allow me to add a field on the checkout page – but not just for specified items)

    Many thanks

    Mike

  • There is a simple ‘Terms and Conditions’ checkbox built into WooCommerce core which would be a free and lightweight way to do this.

Since 3.4, it is possible to customize the ‘Terms and Conditions’ text, so you could add mention of the ‘manufacturer’s safety data sheet’, too.

Navigate to Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Checkout in your site and you’ll be able to set this up.
