• Resolved rollcall2014

    (@rollcall2014)

When members submit an RSVP with and add guests, if more than one guest is added the information populates to the RSVP Report accurately, but the e-mail sent out changes the first name of each guest to be exactly the same as the first name of the last guest entered. Example below, guest names submitted were John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. However, when the e-mail was received all the guest first names were changed to Benjamin as seen below.

    Phone Type: Mobile Phone
Guests: Benjamin Hancock, Benjamin Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin

Try the latest release and let me know if you still see an issue. I found a bug, but I’m not sure it’s exactly what you described.

No luck. Tested again with the following guest names, Nathan Forrest, Ulysses Grant, Abraham Lincoln and it changed all first names to Abraham in the e-mail as seen below.

    Phone Type: Mobile Phone
Guests: Abraham Forrest, Abraham Grant, Abraham Lincoln Note: Testing first name discrepancy

I even created a new event and tested in case the update didn’t change existing events. Still the same issue.

very odd. is this a new install? have you customized the rsvp form? just trying to understand what I need to look at. are we talking about the confirmation email, on screen message or both?

The confirmation e-mail, not the on-screen message. Yes, the RSVP form was customized to include an additional drop down menu with a Yes or No answer. I copied the drop down menu for the phone type and changed the title and answers, and placed it directly after the Last name.

I rewrote the chunk of code responsible for output of the message on screen as well as in the confirmation messages. Try the latest update please.

It had something to do with customizing the form, as that’s the only way I was able to reproduce the problem. Of course, you’re supposed to be able to customize the form, and I still don’t quite understand what was broken. But shouldn’t continue to be an issue.

Tested the update and it appears to be working now. Thank you.
