My problem is now, I have no idea what setting to use in WP Mail SMTP for my email setup on Hostgator.

You will have to ask your host for your e-mail settings. Most host will display the default settings to the mail server in the FAQ section.

Finally some success.

Postman SMTP worked, I now get confirmation emails. I have no idea why. The only thing I have done is deactivate WP Mail SMTP and activate Postman. FS CF confirmation email did not work by itself, it did not work with WP Mail SMTP (had to use port 465 though to get test emails through). FS CF now sending confirmation emails with Postman SMTP Mailer installed. I would love to know why, I may never know. it has take hours of my time (and yours) to sort this out. Good thing I am retired!
