Confirmation Step

Hello – I am able to generate a subscription that receives a confirmation email, however, when the subscriber clicks on the link in the email, they are simply directed back to the subscribe page, with no additional instructions. Isn’t there a “Step 2”? Otherwise, what is the purpose of the link? Also, It is my understanding that someone can register WITHOUT becoming a user on the site, is that correct?
