Conflict ActivityPub/Jetpack?

    Hi,

    Have 2 WP blogs who are enabled with ActivityPub and been working properly for quite some time.

    Was testing Jetpack (again) on both, to allow sharing on Mastodon and tested a few other Jetpack plugins (Boost and Search).

    Once I finished configuring and after purging all caches (W3TC), Site Health alerted me of a problem with ActivityPub: Author URL is not accessible.

    The problem disappeared once I deactivated all Jetpack plugins, and disabling/enabling the ActivityPub plugin after purging all caches again.

    PS: as the ActivityPub plugin is now part of Automattic, it could be nice if everything worked smoothly… ??

    Thanks for the report.

    Could you tell us more about your site, either here or by sending us an email? It would be interesting to know your site URL so we can find out more about what’s causing the issue and how cache is configured on your author pages.

    Do you also know if the problem appeared after activating a specific Jetpack plugin?

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    I looked into it some more, and can confirm that the bug is caused by the Jetpack Boost plugin and its “Defer Non-Essential JavaScript” feature. The bug is documented here and will be fixed in the next release of the plugin. Until then, you should be able to use Jetpack Boost with ActivityPub by turning off the “Defer Non-Essential JavaScript” feature in the Boost plugin settings.
