Conflict between Path theme and Media Editor?

  • Hi Sami and team–I have been using Path Child (v.0.1) with Path Theme (v.0.2.1.2) for a long time, and I like it fine. My designer made it look a little different, but it’s been that way for a long time with no problems. I am using WP 4.1 in a multi-site installation with about 7 websites. The main site is https://www.clarendon.org

    I added some media images today, and the media editor in WP isn’t working…there is just a little icon where the image is supposed to be. My other multi-site sites use old standard WP themes, 2011 and 2012, and the media editor works fine on those. I turned off my plugins, and still couldn’t edit media in Path. I replaced Path with 2015 Theme, and the media editor works. Turned my plugins back on, and the media editor works in 2015, but it doesn’t work in Path any more. Any ideas about how to fix this?

    That’s odd. I tested with two sites using WP 4.1. and could’t reproduce the issue. Does it happen when parent theme Path is active, not the child theme?

    I should have thought of that. The media editor works on Path Theme, but not Path Child. My designer did some styling in the child theme, but we haven’t changed anything there for a long time…so it is weird that it would start acting up now.

    Have you contacted your developer first? He or she should be able to tell what’s going on.

    I can also take a look at it at some point. Also note that there is paid support for Path theme.

    I am a Theme Hybrid club member and sent Justin a note. Disabled and enabled plugins one by one in Path–it works fine. Path child not so much. Let’s see what Justin says.

    Hi Sami–I emailed you and Justin a zip file of the Path Child theme. Can you see anything wrong with it?

    I tested the child theme but I couldn’t reproduce the issues you have.

    – Media editor works.

    – Login/logout link works.

    – Haven’t tested GF.

    Hi Sami–we run a multi-site, so I did an experiement. We have clarendon.org/farmers-market, which uses Twenty-Twelve theme and one plugin–Gravity Forms. I deactivated gravity forms, turned on Path Child, and the Media uploader sits and spins. I turned on Gravity forms, and it won’t export properly. Turned twenty-twelve back on, Media is working right, gravity forms is working right.

    I’m stumped.
