Hi, one of our clients wanted his new website to go AMP. We installed AMP https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/amp/. Then we noticed the following error in the search console : Only amp-boilerplate and amp-custom ‘style’ tags are allowed, and only in the document head.

We started a full audit on the website to figure out the source of the problem. We deactivated all plugins and switched to a simple theme. Before starting the test, we tested our simple theme’s AMP compatibility without any plugin active (expect AMP itself). It did pass. We are using this tool for our AMP test : https://search.google.com/test/amp

Then, we proceeded by activating our client main theme and then one-by-one the plugins.

The first audit triggered the error when we activated SiteGround Optimizer. In the second one, we deactivated all plugins, switched to a simple theme and activated only “SG Optimizer” and “AMP”. The website did not pass the AMP test.

In each test, the error was the same: “Only amp-boilerplate and amp-custom ‘style’ tags are allowed, and only in the document head”.

We had to deactivate the plugin, until maybe you can solve the issue.

    Hello @danielandsebastian,

I tried recreating the issue on a blank WordPress on my end, but I could not.

Could you please let us know which page you are testing with the AMP tool to get the error and if we can re-activate the plugin for your website or create a staging copy of the site to recreate the error?
