Conflict with Ad Inserter’s use of Mcrypt

    I was trying to update my PHP to 7.4 but I’m getting a lot of these errors related to mcrypt:

    Extension ‘mcrypt’ is deprecated since PHP 7.1 and removed since PHP 7.2; Use openssl (preferred) or pecl/mcrypt once available instead

    My host had a look and told me it was Ad Inserter that was using mcrypt, so find out from Ad Inserter how to fix this. Any ideas?

    The plugin should work fine with PHP 7.4 and even PHP 8.1.

    Can you please list file(s) that report error?
    Or better, copy the whole error message.

    You did not list plugin files – not sure how and where you got those messages.

    The plugin itself does not use mcrypt.
    It might be used by Google API which is used for AdSense access – but only if it is available.
    You can ignore the messages, the plugin should work fine with PHP 7.4.
